OF CATS & MONSTERS

In December I received a message from a woman who was wondering if I might be interested in stitching some of her daughter's drawings. I'm interested in stitching anything and everything, so of course I said YES, and I am so glad I did!

I am kind of blown away by this little girl's talent! She was only 8 when she drew these. The detail and proportions are spot on, and there's a whimsy to them that my rainbows, castles, and clouds definitely did not possess when I was her age.

This project inspired me to add a new listing to the shop- embroidered drawings! I loved these so much and I know they're something her mother will hold on to and pass down to her in time. I love creating meaningful pieces with this kind of history. More, please!

Inspired By: MEXICO

Those who know me know I'm a little obsessed with traveling to our southern neighbor's house. I've managed to visit Mexico three times in the last year and a half and can't deny I'm planning yet another trip. I prefer the Caribbean side: gimme that bright blue sea and the quiet, white beaches found just outside the busier tourist hubs. I might spend the whole day sweating, but you won't find me happier in any other place (thus far).
